A Tour of the
Burlington

The Burlington was built as a
Guest House in 1904, by a Mr Taylor, the enterprising
local blacksmith and has been a favourite base
for generations of holidaymakers since that date.
This fine Edwardian building was rescued from semi-dereliction in 1996 by
John and Doreen Lamont. Sympathetically refurbished to its original Arts and
Crafts style, the
building now reflects the standards expected by today's visitor while retaining
the Edwardian features

All 8 bedrooms have ensuite
facilities, colour televisions, radio alarms and hospitality trays.
We do not, however, have phones in the bedrooms - you're here to relax.
There is a comfortable Residents' Lounge which overlooks the bay and a
pleasant patio where you can sit, enjoy a drink and watch a sedate flotilla of
swans as they glide across the Bay, or wonder at the gannets
plunging into the waves as they spy a tasty morsel, or contemplate "The
Waverley", Britain's last sea-going paddle-steamer, as she chugs down the
Clyde (doon The Watter).

Meet your friends and enjoy
a refreshing apéritif before dinner, or a relaxing nightcap in our residents'
bar
By day, the beach
provides a fascinating
playground for old and young alike. By night, you can enjoy the stars as much as
Burt Lancaster in "Local
Hero", but you don't need
to buy the beach!

This family-run
hostelry offers a warm Scottish welcome and a comfortable environment in which
to enjoy a relaxing break on the magical Isle of Arran, convenient to the main
Scottish heartlands, yet distant enough to ensure that work stays firmly on the
back-burner.
