Tour of the House The Burlington was built as a Guest House in 1904, by a Mr Taylor, the enterprising local blacksmith, and has been a favourite base for generations of holidaymakers since that date.
This fine building
has been sympathetically refurbished to its original Arts and Crafts style, and
now reflects the standards expected by today's visitor while retaining the
Edwardian features.
Gardens and Patio
From the patio, enjoy the ever-changing world of the Bay, whether it be small puffers, yachts, large liners, frigates or submarines from the Holy Loch, or the last sea-going paddle-steamer, the Waverley.
Most spectacular of all are the natural attractions: the Holy Isle, the beach and all the wildlife of the island - seals, porpoises, the occasional basking shark, and the wonderfully varied seabirds. An afternoon's relaxation on the Burlington patio captures the essence of "being".
