Arran is accessible by two ferry routes: from Ardrossan to Brodick, or by the smaller ferry operating between Claonaig and Lochranza at the North end of the island in Summer (Winter timetable is via Tarbet to Lochranza)
There is a regular direct train service between Glasgow and Ardrossan Harbour
If coming to Arran by car via Ardrossan it is essential to book in advance (please book your ferry ticket prior to booking your stay with us)

Just down the road from the Burlington, this superb circular walk climbs up through a wooded glen to reach a viewing platform for the Glenashdale Falls. The route then continues to visit the Giant's Graves with a fantastic outlook over Whiting Bay and Holy Island

Whiting Bay Golf Course is a 5 min. drive from the Burlington and guests are offered £5 off a round of golf! (vouchers available at reception)

This is the island’s highest peak. Go up the path from Cladach, and reward yourself with an Arran Ice Cream once you’re back down. Takes approx. 4-6 hours

The castle offers a great insight into the Hamilton dynasty that used to own all of Arran. Also visit the Heritage Museum which offers the social history of Arran and its people

Historic King's Cave is one of several locations in which Robert the Bruce is said to have had his famed encounter with a spider. This circular heads down to explore a dramatic section of coastline with a series of caves

The Lochranza Distillery & Visitor Centre, owned by the award winning Isle of Arran Distillers Ltd, is situated in the beautiful village of Lochranza at the north end of the Isle of Arran. Whisky Tasting Tours available here and at their new Lagg Distillery at the south of the island

Based at the Cladach Beach House in Brodick, this beachside cocktail haven is owned by the creators of Arran Gin, Cassis & Botanical Beers

Home Farm was the estate farm for Brodick Castle. It now houses a series of popular shops & cafes including Arran Cheese Shop and Arran Aromatics
